Abrishami explores a realm in which the French press has called "A statement in the fluidity of human figures... He creates a tension between each figure, a kinship of place or condition that provokes the viewer to seek reasons for such relationships." Greatly influenced by modern masters from Cezanne to Picasso, his boldly colorful paintings are filled with love and laughter, music and dance.
Perez is reluctant to have his work categorized. It is best to refer to his own description - Emotionalism - which sums up his uniquely expressive style. He settled some years ago on oils as his preferred medium, as he believes they allow him to achieve the atmosphere of compressed energy and passion within his work, and allows his beautifully figures to live and breath on the canvas.
Ford Smith creates vibrantly colored landscapes that hover somewhere in the artistic territory between abstraction and representation. Ford's sense of nature is not a Romantic's wild and angry universe. Rather, he recalls the startling color combinations and mesmerizing horizons, then blends those images with his own passion and optimistic philosophy of life.
